What is Favorites Day?
Favorites Day actually occurs on TEN separate days when TEN new Marvelous World Favorites Day books come out. Yes, TEN new Marvelous World books. Nine of them are novellas (Short novels around 80 pages) and can be read independently of the core Marvelous World Series and in any order. Marvelous World 3: Horribly Marvelous (Horribly Marvelous Book 1) is a full length novel and will be released on September 29. 2012 (09.29.12). I know that seems like a long time from now but you will be getting six new Marvelous World novellas before then and three more novellas right after MW 3. I hope that makes up for being away for so long. I have to win all of my readers back.
Favorites Day is also when FAVORITES celebrate and take pride in the fact that they are FAVORITES, no matter if you are eNoli or iLone. These days were chosen because they all have to do with a special sequencing of the numbers 291, which are highly important to The Marvelous World. So, if you are a Favorites Days are your days.
As of right now the following are Favorites Days:
9.29.11 10.29.11 11.29.11 12.29.11 1.29.12 2.29.12 10.29.12 11.29.12 12.29.12
THERE IS MORE!!!
There is also a Favorites Day Challenge. That is an online and real world challenge where FAVORITES complete tasks to score points and win many different prizes. The ultimate prize is a real Alonis Medallion. This contest will go live soon so make sure you add your email address to ensure that you will be notified.
Next Favorites Day is 10.29.11
We will do it much bigger for that one!
Read MoreSteve Jobs has resigned from Apple. We in the Marvelous World have called this a MEGA sad day! Long live the most prolific mind of modern times…
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Silicon Valley legend Steve Jobs on Wednesday resigned as chief executive of Apple Inc in a stunning move that ended his 14-year reign at the technology giant he co-founded in a garage.
Apple shares dived as much as 7 percent in after-hours trade after the pancreatic cancer survivor and industry icon, who has been on medical leave for an undisclosed condition since January 17, announced he will be replaced by COO and longtime heir apparent Tim Cook.
Analysts do not expect Jobs’ resignation — which had long been foreseen — to derail the company’s fabled product-launch roadmap, including possibly a new iPhone in September and a third iteration of the iPad tablet in 2012.
“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come,” he said in a brief letter announcing his resignation.
The 55-year-old CEO had briefly emerged from his medical leave in March to unveil the latest version of the iPad and later to attend a dinner hosted by President Barack Obama for technology leaders in Silicon Valley.
Jobs’ often-gaunt appearance has sparked questions about his health and his ability to continue at Apple.
“I will say to investors: don’t panic and remain calm, it’s the right thing to do. Steve will be chairman and Cook is CEO,” said BGC Financial analyst Colin Gillis.
Apple shares slid to $357.40 in extended trading after a brief halt. They had gained 0.7 percent to close at $376.18 on the Nasdaq.
Analysts again expressed confidence in the Apple bench, headed by longtime company No. 2 and supply-chain maven Cook.
“Investors are very comfortable with Tim Cook even though Jobs has been a driver of innovation and clearly an Apple success. Tim has shown Apple can still outperform extremely well when he’s been acting as CEO,” said Cross Research analyst Shannon Cross.
“I don’t know if it’s a health issue. I don’t know if it is a shock. Most likely it was going to happen at some point. Why today versus another day? I don’t know.”

Read MoreA company from Australia claims to have seriously changed the graphics game with their atom based graphics technology. Who knows? If it is true it is kind of exciting.
Euclideon, an Australian company based in Brisbane has made the remarkable claim that they’ve developed a new graphics rendering technology for video games that is “100,000 times better” than existing systems.
After their first announcement around a year ago, they dropped off the radar, and have recently resurfaced with a new statement as part of a video showcasing their new technology, built with nearly $2 million dollars of assistance from the Australian Government
While it is a bit light on the technical details, it is intriguing:
There is a better way to do computer graphics, which is used in medicine and the sciences. The better way to do computer graphics is to make everything out of tiny little atoms instead of flat panels. The problem is that this particular system uses up a lot of processing power. The more objects you have on the screen, the slower your computer will run. Having four or five detailed objects will run just fine, but you certainly can’t do a level of a game.
We got a lot of attention because we made the claim that we could run unlimited “little 3D atoms” in real time.
The video below showcases a test island they’ve created, apparently comprising of over 21 trillion polygons and running at 20 FPS.
They’re apparently a few months away from having an SDK available for game developers to start tinkering with the new technology, so we’ll have to wait a bit and see. In the meantime, as AusGamers is also predominantly Brisbane-based, we’ve contacted them to see if we arrange a chat to discuss more about their new technology.
We’re firm believers in the mantra of Carl Sagan – “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” – so we look forward to seeing more from Euclidean about their new technology soon!
